19 Feb 2016 BISHOP VISITS MORGAN MARINE AS PART OF HIS ST DAVID'S PILGRIMAGE

The Bishop of St David's, the Rt Rev Wyn Evans, paid a visit to Morgan Marine's headquarters on Thursday, 11th of February as part of his three-year bid to drop in on every church and parish in his diocese.

The 'marathon' sees the Bishop following in the footsteps of St David. So far the Bishop has been welcomed at churches, schools and businesses and he is recording his experiences on a blog.

During his visit to Morgan Marine, the Bishop enjoyed a presentation on the 50 year history of the company and a tour of its manufacturing and fabrication plant. He also heard about some of Morgan Marine's many projects past and present – some more quirky than others - including the fabrication and installation of a GRP (Glass Reinforced Polymer) spire on a village church in Hampshire.

Morgan Marine's Managing Director, Martyn Ingram, said: "We were delighted to welcome the Rt Rev Wyn Evans to Morgan Marine as part of his visit to Llandybïe Parish, including Llandybïe Church.

"He is well-known, of course, for being a driving force behind the ambitious restoration project at St David's Cathedral, which has preserved it for generations to come, and we enjoyed talking to him about this, as well as sharing Morgan Marine's latest news with him.

"It has always been very important for us at Morgan Marine to be an integral part of the community. Llandybïe Church is central to that community and we have been happy to support it over the years through our Charity Fund. In recent years we were pleased to donate and install a custom-built LED illuminated cross and other festive decorations to brighten up the church and we continue to maintain strong links with the congregation - many of the parishioners joined us for Morgan Marine's 50th anniversary celebrations last year, and for the visit from HRH Prince Charles last spring."
